This ‘Examination focus’ is relevant to AQA A2 Unit 3, OCR A2 Units G155 and G156 and WJEC LA3.

In ordinary conversation, the word ‘frustration’ is usually used to describe the feeling of being upset or annoyed at being unable to do something. However, in contract law frustration describes the situation where, after a contract has been made, an event occurs that makes the contract impossible to perform, causing the contract to be automatically terminated, with neither party being able to sue the other for damages.
