Brexit and people

Forget robots and AI, Ian Marcousé argues that Brexit Britain needs to focus on people

From 29 March 2019 the clock really starts ticking on Brexit. The UK electorate has pushed the economy towards a more independent, tougher position in the world. We have opted out of the world’s richest club, and it will inevitably take time to build new trading links. With the UK’s productivity position some 30% behind that of France, Germany and the USA, things have to change. Our productivity must rise sharply over the next 5–10 years, or Brexit will be a disaster. It’s time for politicians and business bosses to start getting things right.
