Revision sites

Are you stressed out about mastering the content and the technique required at GCSE? If so, there is a wide variety of websites dedicated to helping you. Some of these, such as the BBC bitesize site at www.bbc.co.uk/schools/gcsebitesize/history, have been set up by media institutions. Others rely on individual enthusiasts (e.g. www.johndclare.net and www.ilovehistory.co.uk) but are just as useful. Hopefully the sites in this On line will help you brush up on both the facts you need and the exam skills that will help you get a good grade.

Using the internet as a resource should make revision easier and more interesting. One of its strengths is that it can incorporate various types of media to help you learn material. Some sites might offer you podcasts (e.g. www.mrallsophistory.com and http://dancarlin.com/disp.php/hh). Other sites support you with mindmaps (e.g. Schoolhistory. co.uk at http://tinyurl.com/388nyoa) or revision documents and worksheets (e.g. www.historygcse.org). Some sites focus specifically on revision (e.g. www.schoolhistory.co.uk/revision) and provide forums for last-minute questions (e.g. www.schoolhistory.co.uk/studentforum and the Student Room at http://tinyurl.com/336nke8).
