You might have thought that Cristiano Ronaldo earned enough from his wages at new club Juventus, which are reported to be over half a million pounds a week. However, Ronaldo also exploits his shirt number 7 via his own fashion brand CR7. In addition, over the years, he has exploited his commercial value and high social media presence as ‘the best footballer in the world’ to attract a range of sponsors.

According to sponsorship intelligence analyst Toolkit, Ronaldo has a social media presence worth over $900 million to businesses looking to promote their brand and sell their products. He possesses the third most-followed Instagram account, third most-followed Facebook page and ninth most-popular Twitter account, with a combined world audience of over 305 million. Forbes reported that between June 2016 and June 2017, Ronaldo posted 580 sponsored posts, which generated 927 million internet searches.
