Swimming with the elite

An interview with Mark Foster

Chris Buckley talks to former elite swimmer and Strictly Come Dancing star Mark Foster, asking him a variety of questions about his experiences in the pool and on the dance floor.

Mark Foster was first selected to swim for Great Britain in 1985, and won his first international medal in the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland (a bronze). His major successes came in short course swimming championships — during his career Mark won six golds in the World Short Course Championships, mixed between 50 m freestyle and 50 m butterfly. He retired from competitive swimming in 2006 after a career spanning 21 years.
