Imaging a black hole

The first ever image of a black hole, obtained with the Event Horizon Telescope, confirms predictions of Einstein’s theory of general relativity

The EHT is a radio telescope that uses interferometry to achieve a resolution of 25 micro arcseconds. Its image of a black hole confirms the predictions of the theory of general relativity in an extreme gravitational field.
