A personal story of maternal deprivation

Jenny Molloy describes her childhood

My childhood began as one of six children, with a mother and father who fed their addictions with my mum’s sex work. Out of the six of us, there were four children left. For reasons of which I am in the dark, my two sisters were adopted at birth. Life was frightening for us as children. We never quite knew what was going to happen from day to day, hour to hour, moment to moment. Life in our home depended on set factors:
