In the last issue we looked at two weaker student answers to the following exam-style question:
Peter has obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). His friend Charlene is studying psychology and tries to explain to their friends why this may have developed in Peter. She says that mental disorders such as OCD can be caused by biological or psychological factors. For example, someone could inherit the disorder from one of their parents or it could be that there is something abnormal in the person’s brain. On the other hand, life experiences may be the cause. Charlene says she thinks biological factors are more important.
