SOCIOLOGY REVIEW

Volume 19 Number 2 November 2009

Sociology Review continues to offer articles on cutting-edge research to fit with the concerns of AS and A2 sociology students. On education, we have two key articles, but these also touch on other important issues. Louise Archer, for example, examines debates about the performance of girls in school — but she also looks at deviance, education and young women. Gill Crozier is more interested in ethnicity and education, and looks at how negative stereotyping and peer-group abuse can add to race inequality in school. Ethnicity and young people is also a core concern for Eileen Green and Carrie Singleton, but this time they examine the role of mobile phones in transforming friendships.
