Few countries have suffered an earthquake so devastating as the Caribbean island nation of Haiti. More than 220,000 people were killed, 300,000 injured, and 1.5 million left homeless when the deadly earthquake, measuring 7.0 on the Richter Scale, struck on 12 January 2010.
