Access to justice is a wide-ranging concept covering access to legal advice and representation and its funding. State aid helps to ensure access to justice by funding assistance for those who cannot afford it, underpinning the concept of equality before the law.Additionally, access to justice and equality are two of Lord Bingham’s suggested components of the ‘rule of law’.
