A Healthy, Wealthy, Sustainable World

Tim Elsworth

Today’s media are saturated with advice and tips about what to eat and buy to keep yourself healthy or to help protect the environment. While some of this is based on scientific evidence, a great deal of this advice should be the subject of more critical thinking before being followed.

In A Healthy, Wealthy, Sustainable World, John Emsley sets out to try and address this. He uses scientific justifications and principles, presenting them in an easy-to-follow colloquial manner. It is a volume that can be picked up at any time and enjoyed, while educating the reader. For instance, we are always being led to believe that organic produce is the best for us and the environment, but the point is made that organic farming is not able to produce enough food to feed everyone.
