Ashley Lait interviews Dr Ha-Joon Chang, reader in the political economy of development at the University of Cambridge

In addition to his academic publications, Ha-Joon is author of numerous popular economics books, including Economics: The User’s Guide, 23 Things They Don’t Tell You About Capitalism, and Bad Samaritans: The Guilty Secrets of Rich Nations and the Threat to Global Prosperity. He has also advised many United Nations organisations, multilateral financial organisations like the World Bank, privatesector organisations and national government agencies, including the Department for International Development, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, and the Overseas Development Institute in the UK.
