Understanding how to analyse the representation of gender is central to the study of literature and language in all specifications

As well as becoming confident with analysing the way men and women communicate in speech, you need to understand how men and women are represented both in fiction and non-fiction texts and be able to explore how this representation has been constructed in light of the text’s audience, purpose and genre.
