Sixty years ago, in countries like Britain, men were breadwinners and most women were housewives. Rapid social change since those days means that girls and women are excelling in school and university, thriving in employment, leading large companies and heading governments.This is a global phenomenon, but the drivers and dynamics vary geographically.
