Often described as ‘the why of the where’, geography is a subject close to my heart and one that has allowed me to embark on numerous life adventures — many of which you wouldn’t necessarily attribute to being a geographer. So, this is my story of where I’ve been and why geography was the one consistent factor in that journey…

Geography has essentially taken me around the world. While studying geography at university, I went on a year-long exchange to the University of Toronto and, after graduating, I moved to Suzhou, China, to teach geography to over 300 students across four age groups. Not bad for someone aged 22, eh?
