How effective is terrorism?

Roosevelt’s achievements, 1933–45

Source A President Franklin Delano Roosevelt

Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s achievements as one of the USA’s greatest presidents and its most accomplished leaders since George Washington and Abraham Lincoln make him one of the most important people of the twentieth century. Many believe that Roosevelt saved capitalism and democracy from the Great Depression of the 1930s and brought the USA to the rescue to protect the Western world from Adolf Hitler in the 1940s.

The only US president in history to be elected four times, Roosevelt died in office in April 1945. He had created the conditions in which the USA and other countries could win the peace and lead the world to a happier place. Some of his claims to success are based on the strengths examined in this article.
