The physical and psychological benefits of consuming a milk-based drink after exercise

Hydration is a topic found in the diet and nutrition section for all three major exam boards.

Who would have thought that having a delicious, sweet drink would benefit recovery and performance? Well, it does. Having chocolate milk after exercise enhances the rate of rehydration, while also supplying carbohydrate and protein to the muscle cells to replenish glycogen stores and repair microtears in muscle tissue after exercise.
