Using algebra

In order to be successful with AS and A-level physics you need to be able to combine equations and to change the subject of an equation. In other words, use algebra. Not only is this needed for calculations but also is essential for deciding the best graph to plot for showing relationships between quantities. This article will remind you of some of the techniques you are likely to use.

The most frequent requirement is to change the subject of a simple equation, for example, V = I× R where V is potential difference, I is current and R is resistance.
