Making effective US vs UK comparisons

Many students are unsure about how to go about making comparisons between British and US politics when answering A2 questions on US politics. This article will explain when and how to use such comparisons effectively.

There is no requirement to make comparisons with the UK when answering either the 10- or 30-mark questions, even to access the top-mark band. Comparisons with British politics are only one route to achieving synopticity, namely drawing on knowledge from other parts of your politics course when answering a question on a topic.
