The following question, sample answer and commentary are based on the format of an AQA A-level Sociology Paper 3 question 4. This type of question is an essay question, in which you need to use an Item and apply material from that Item and your own knowledge to produce an answer. AQA A-level Paper 3 has a total of 2 hours (120 minutes) allowed to try to gain 80 marks. Therefore, you are expected to spend roughly 45 minutes on this sort of question, including planning and checking.
