Microclimates

You can easily study microclimates in a small local area by measuring weather variables along a transect

Microclimates are variations in atmospheric conditions over a small area. You can find a range of microclimates in locations such as on the edge of woodlands, around buildings or up a slope. It is therefore quite easy to find a suitable site to conduct a microclimate investigation. You can even do one in the school grounds. Depending upon the weather variables you intend to study, you may need some specialist equipment.

For an effective microclimate enquiry you need to study differences between sampling sites in each of the weather variables listed below.
